Our Company

To build an AI-powered recommendation algorithm that develops a user’s personal style profile in order to make it easier to discover, plan, acquire, manage, share, and protect everything that matters across the many places in which we will live over our lifetime. In the process, we hope to organize all of our things–and everything that goes into them–in order to unlock the wealth they contain and the narrative they hold. We believe that doing so will help to conserve and pass on our way of life, and the most significant estates and collections, to the next generation.

Mission

OurThings was founded in Chicago and Boulder in the fall of 2023.

We envision an ad-free retail experience centered around the image you create of your future. This image will be created via generative AI and your style profile. It will be populated by things  that can be purchased. It will reflect big dreams and immediate goals while also providing the tools to help you plan and actualize those goals. You’ll experience this image via both AR and VR, in your home, our stores, and a wide range of retail partners.

This space will become a stand-in for your home where you learn about style trends and share your projects, collections, and prized possessions with friends. It will provide a range of integrated services related to the home and become an indispensable management tool.

Ultimately, OurThings will spread beyond home goods into adjacent spaces like luxury watches and jewelry, high-end shoes and fashion, and even vintage records, rare books, and collectible wine. It will offer retailers a far better conversion rate than the existing advertising model and will become a centralized point for e-commerce that can better track things and predict consumer trends. In the process, it will help facilitate a more circular economy and revolutionize the retail experience.
